I have an irrational love of “what’s in my bag” posts. Maybe it’s because I’m mildly obsessive compulsive, maybe it’s because I’m mildly voyeuristic, but either way, I find myself reading each bag-filled post thoroughly. So when I saw this post on Fieldguided this morning, I found myself inspired to dump out my bag and snap a photo (I have the absolute crappiest camera though, I apologize!).
From left to right, top row first:1. iPod touch, my constant companion. I use it primarily for instagram, checking my email and google reader from the train, and music on my long commute to/from work. (I need better headphones, and would love some recommendations!)2. Blackberry Curve. This baby is almost 2 years old and on its way out. I’m definitely upgrading to an iPhone when it’s time to renew my contract.3. Tree/bird wallet, custom made for me by mmmily on etsy. I love this thing - it has a large zipper pouch for cash, and a smaller one in the front for various cards.4. Ahh, my T pass. My most expensive monthly bill (other than rent).5. Bag from H&M. I am afraid of owning nice bags because I am outside in all sorts of weather, have a trouble-making cat (you’ll see that she invited herself into this photo), and am very accident prone. When winter is over, I’ll be going back to a tote.Bottom row:6. I’m re-reading The Book of Laughter and Forgetting, which was a gift from my friend Sophie.7. This bag is smallish, so I don’t carry a lot of makeup in it. A long-empty covergirl powder case that I use for the mirror, Almay under-eye concealer (I have awful hereditary dark circles), Burt’s Bees lip balm, and a tiny bottle of Lubriderm for dry wintery hands (and my healing tattoo).8. Green heart pencil case that I’ve had since 2005! It was a gift from my friend Erin, who I’ve known for probably 8-9 years now, but whom I’ve never met. She lives in Canada.9. Eraser and pencil sharpener.10. Sketchbook Project 2012! I’ve been carrying it around but not working in it consistently. But the postmark date is in 19 days, so I keep it with me in case I get the itch.11. The drawing utensils that I carry with me change from time to time, but these are usually the constants. Microns (08, 03, 005.. there’s usually an 05 in there too), a red fine-point marker like pen (used rarely, but I really like it), black and red pilot ballpoints, white gel pen, and a mechanical pencil. Show me what’s in your bag, too?
